Alrighty. So for those of you who have been following my YouTube Channel, there's a lot going on over there. Aside from the fact that I've been video blogging a lot this past week, I've reuploaded most of my NBB videos as well as post a new one. Head on over and check it out!

And I completed another chapter of TFG, bringing it up to chapter 12. And I've also posted a new chapter for Autumn Eyes. On top of that, I have new story ideas posted up on the ff.net profile and I talked about them in one of my video blogs.

I've actually started working on the site again, but its process will be slow since it's not on my top priorities list.

Anyway, I have a midterm tomorrow, so I'll catch ya'll later!

Have a good one!

Hey guys! Check out my YouTube channel! You can check it on the links bar on the right. I started posting video blogs on there, which I can use to compliment the updates here.

On top of that, two new chapters of TFG are up.

I'm slowly but surely getting back on track. That's all for now! I gotta get back to doing homework. :l

Alrighty! So life rocks here for me. Recently I was in our VSA's (Vietnamese Student Association) 10th Annual Culture show as a main cast member. The show was awesome but it ate up so much of my time that I have no idea what to do nowadays. I've made a lot of new friends and we've become very tight throughout the process of the show, and we're all drowning in our large amounts of free time (aside from school work and midterms of course).

Solution?

Well.. a lotta things actually. One of the things we've decided to do is make our own group YouTube Channel where we can post videos. Videos of what, you ask? We'll I'm an amateur guitarist, we have an improv percussionist/beatboxer, and some people who kinda know how to sing. It all started when we decided to make a joke-cover of a song with really annoying voices and a guitar....now we're thinking about doing a few for real. It'll probably have other really random videos of us fooling around... it's just me and the crew goofing off and having fun.

And here's the big news:

*drumroll*

The site is coming back!

Sorta.

I'm going to be making a new site to post my work. I'm planning on changing my penname... or just not having one at all. This is all to be decided later. I just know that I do want to make another website for myself to post my things, promote my novels when I submit them for publishing, and do other neat website-things.

Of course, school comes first. I'll be finishing my amazing freshman year of college in just a little over a month, so these cool new things won't be happening for a while. I'm just throwing in a heads up for everone.

Thanks for those who have stuck by. There's a lot in store for you in the near-ish future!

Have a good one!

Life is crazy busy cool right now.

That's right. I said it. It's crazy busy cool. All three. At once.

Aside from the usual personal, private twists in my life, things are going very well. I've finally convince my parents that I'm not meant for natural sciences. It's not that I'm not good at it. Trust me. I have no problem with the material at all... it's just hard to motivate myself to work with something I'm really growing to dislike.

So after that, I've finally managed to break away from my Combined Science major, which was a hellish combination of all the natural sciences (bio, chem both inorganic and organic, physics) and a teeny sprinkling of the social sciences (socio, psych, poli-sci) all wrapped up in a crazy requirement package. I'm not saying its impossible. It's just not a cakewalk.

After weighing options and such, it looks like I'm changing to a psych major with a communications minor. So much more interesting.

The pursuit of something you are truly passionate about is something worth celebrating. So in honor of going through a great week 1 of my spring quarter, I went and bought myself a whole buncha books (which I seem to do regardless) and a slice of Safeway cheesecake. Yum. Throw in a bit of tea and my guitar and nothing could go wrong.

Besides all that, I've been reading like a madwoman whenever I had the chance to. It's nice to know that I have a life outside of studying. Balance is the key to a healthy lifestyle. :P

In the day I guitar. At night, during quiet hours, I read. I have too many books right now I don't even know where to begin.

And now, as I am running out of things to ramble about, I will leave you with the usual: "Yes I am still writing but right now I'm focusing on my originals, which I plan on getting published and so do not post online. I will try to update a fanfic ASAP" and all that stuff you guys have seemed to grow so accustomed to.

Have a good one, all!

I actually meant to post this a while ago but I didn't have the time. Finals are a killer.

Like I said before: Life's funny. You never know what's coming at you.

Well props to that. What I thought was going to be a few weeks of hell turned out to be no big deal. As a matter of fact, I feel that a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders and everything went for the better.

I don't want to bore you all with details, though, so I won't. All I know is that I'm eternally grateful for my friends and my ability to think in tough situations. It's kept me from making rash decisions that everyone may later regret.

Anyway, finals week is upon me and so the studying must confinue! Have a good one, all!

So if you don't hear a lot from me within the next week and a half, it is probably a combination of work and other things in my life that need a lot of attention at the moment. Sorry about that.

I'm not doing it myself. I'm in biology right now and no matter how nice my professor is as a person, her lectures will never manage to captur my attention. I get more information from the book than from the lecture.

Oh well.

Anyway, my inspiration is still at an all time high right now, and my mind is wandering all over the place...in a good way.

Now I'm not saying that I'm a bad student or anything. My grades are high and I work hard. I'm just saying that when I'm in a class that I feel is a waste of time, I tend to brainstorm or think of other ways to be productive with my time. Some people who know how college works are probably wondering "Why don't you just skip class?" Well I'm attending a private college and the classes are small, so I can't actually skip a class and go unnoticed.

What do I do instead? Let's just say I'm not the kind of person to doodle in my notebooks.

Rather, I outline. I brainstorm. Sometimes I even write out actual chapters. If I'm going to waste time, might as well be productive while doing it right?

Yeah, so I'm just blogging to waste time right now. I've been exploring my musical side right now since I have access to a guitar and keyboard and friend who likes to play with me. Lately I've been working on an arrangement of an All American Rejects song for my friend and I to play a duet. I'm working it so that there's a single piano and single guitar part and then we can jam.

It's an awesome song called "Another Heart Calls." I'm almost done doing it and I can't wait until I can test it out.

And now class is over, so I'll try to be back tonight with something more interesting to ramble about. Have a good one all!

I might have time to come back later and post more, but for now, this'll just be a quick ramble.

It's really nice to be back on my feet and online, although I think I overwhelmed myself before. I spread myself too far and too wide and just lost sight of it all. Eh.. we all gotta learn some time I guess.

For a while, I actually contemplated not posting online anymore, but I knew there was just something wrong about that. I still loved writing fanfiction, and it's not like I could get that published or anything. I still wanted to share my work with others and so decided to come back... just on a smaller scale.

Boy am I glad I did.

It's nice. Its refreshing. I haven't even taken the time to type up my chapters and released them, but knowing that I will do it eventually is enough to give me a hopeful light for the future.

Earlier today, I made a complete list of all the ideas I have for singles, fanfics, originals... everything. I included the already completed ones and I was awestruck at how long the list really was. My fanfic list had around 13-15 ideas on it (including small vague ones). My originals had around 10 including the vague ones. The Eternal Melody Series had so many installments as well, but I think I'll leave that number as a surprise.

Who knows if all these ideas will ever get a chance to shine, but that's not the point. The fact that I could even come up with so much amazes me. Inspiration is a funny thing, I guess.

And now I'm off to a meeting and then to my friend's house for a guitar/piano jam session with my buddy and bf. Have a good one all!

Just in case, here's the email I sent out earlier today regarding my long long long absence.

So....yeah. I don't know exactly where to start in this explanation....How about I start with saying this? No, I am not dead, and I have not been wiped off the face of the planet. I'm very much alive and kicking.

Now that that stupid rumor is out of the way...

Many of you have noticed my lack of updates. To be honest, I haven't even gotten the chance to be on my computer very much for the past few weeks except to write papers for school. I've been ridiculously busy lately, and my workload doesn't seem like its going to lighten up any time soon.

I've finally found a functional balance of work and play in my life, but it came with a lot of sacrifices. I get about four hours of sleep a night and eat one full meal a day and the equivalent of 1/2 a meal in snacks throughout the rest of the day. I'm working at the library or elsewhere for most of the day. My double major and possible minor is going to eat me alive and I'm ready for it.

As for my social life, I somewhat recently (not even a full three months ago) entered a new relationship. My boyfriend is a wonderful person and is more than deserving of a portion of my time. The same goes with the rest of my friends here on campus, all of whom I absolutely adore.

Thanks to one of these friends, who has become like a big brother to me, I've also started up guitar and piano again. We like to (attempt to) jam on a regular basis and it's an amazing outlet for my creativity. I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world.

Now here's a big question. Do I still write?

Of course! I've been writing more than ever...in notebooks. Rather than stunting my growth by carrying my laptop in my backpack everywhere I go, I care around notebooks that I am ALWAYS writing in. To give you guys an idea of how much I've been writing, get this. Remember A Time For Goodbyes? It's complete. Autumn Eyes? about 3/4ths done. I have 3 new singles in those notebooks, one of which can be classified as a songfic.

And inspiration is coming at me from all angles. I have a small pocketbook solely for ideas. That thing is so full its not even funny. I have 3-4 ideas for new fanfics and about 4-6 new ideas for originals which I plan on getting published if I ever get the chance to. And I'm still working on getting my NaNoWriMo Obsidian Earth ready for publishing and the first installment of the big-time fantasy series Eternal Melody prepared for publishing as well.

So yeah, I've been busy. Everything I have is in a notebook and since I'm usually not on my computer, I haven't had the time to type things up.

What does this mean for all you guys?

Well let's see. I only recently discovered that neither of my two webhosts are working right now... I have no idea what I'm going to do about that. Also, YouTube is still deleting my videos on a regular basis. Nothing I can do about that. But I don't wanna just leave all you guys on the side of the street with nothing.

So here's my plan. Rather than depending on these wishy-washy webhosts, I'm just not going to have a central website. I'm going to manage my blog and post links to my fanfiction.net profile on there as a gateway to all my fanfictions. As for my originals? I haven't decided yet. Because I plan on having them all published some time in the future, I don't want them fully released online. However, I may release snippets on my blog or on fictionpress.org or something. I haven't decided on that yet.

However, since I obviously fail at deadlines and regular updates, I'm going with a "no promises policy." Rather than setting "reasonable" deadlines, I'm just not going to set them at all. Any and all updates will be sporadic and random. Sorry, I can't change that. I will TRY MY BEST to keep my livejournal updated, but that's all I can say. When I get the chance, I will type up all the chapters I have an post them on ff.net. Until then, you guys will just have to sit pretty and not wait up for me. I never expect you to anyway.

So...sorry about the wait. I'll try to get on my blog ASAP and throw some random ramblings at you. Until then, you guys get out some, enjoy life, and find that golden balance in your life.

Have a good one all!

I had one productive day, if I do say so myself.

I don't know what hit me today, but I'm glad it did and I hope it hits me again. After the disaster of losing some pretty valuable data when my old hard drive died, I was able to re-obtain all my music, and if you knew me well enough, you'd know exactly how important that really is to me.

I also finished writing two chapters of A Time for Goodbyes, one chapter of Autumn Eyes, and finished rewriting the intro of Unspoken Oblivion. Woot!

And today wasn't just writing day either. I even managed to finish one Naked Brothers Band music video, one Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children music video, and half of another NBB video.

I'm on a roll and I'm loving it! Ah... it's good to be back on track.

That's it for now. Have a good one, folks!

2 words: Major. Setback.

It was really random. My computer ran out of batteries. I plugged it in and turned it on to make sure things were dandy. They were.

I took a shower. I came back.

I open the computer and am faced with a screen that says "A disc read error has occurred. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart."

I restart it.

I am then faced with a screen that says "A disc read error has occurred. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart."

I blink. I stare. And there's nothing I can do about it.

Anyway. I got a new computer, which is alright. I did, however, lose all the data on my old computer, which sucks. We even went to the professionals and they said nothing could be recovered. However, since I meticulously back up my writing folders pretty often in about 4 different places, I managed to avoid that major disaster.

Still, I lost about two weeks of a good work on the site and a few chapters of my work since I wasn't able to back it up at the time. Plus, I lost progress on three amazing videos I was almost done making. I also lost all my pictures and music, so I'm kind of bummed.

Anyway, things will go as planned and the site will return on New Years, but right now I'm just trying to reconfigure things and get back on track somehow. Ugh.

I hate setbacks.

That's it. Have a good one all!

Oh boy does finals week suck. In trying to keep myself grounded and sane, though, I've started looking ahead. It was then that I realized how far up into the clouds my head really was.

Disclaimer...ish: I don't mean to brag. This blog post is just meant for me to share my thoughts with all of you. If you are the kind of person who will get jealous or think that I'm bragging or being arrogant or whatever, I suggest you stop reading this right now before it's too late.

So let's see where I want to begin in my whimsical little mind....

Well how about I start by showing off this little thing here:

That's right! I began the journey into NaNoWriMo and I've succeeded! For those of you who don't know what NaNoWriMo is, I'll give a brief explanation, but you can probably find a better one at http://www.nanowrimo.org. NaNoWriMo stands for Nation Novel Writing Month and it takes place every November and 2008 was NaNoWriMo's 10 year anniversery. Yay!

Anyway, the goal for the WriMos, as the participants are called, is to write a 50,000 novel in 30 days. That's about the size of The Great Gatsby or double the length of Animal Farm. That means writing about 1667 words a day to keep on par. Another key to this whole fiasco is just letting your creativity take you where ever you let it. Although some planning and a few notes are allowed, some people dive into it with little to no idea what they are saying. In the month of November, the inner-editors of all WriMos curl up in a corner and die as quality is sacrificed for quantity. WriMos like to refer to this as "literary abandon." There is always time to edit after the manuscript is completed. November is not about writing something amazing.. its about writing something - anything.

Many people do not make it, especially on their first try. That's not to shine the spotlight on me or anything. I am one of 21,683 winners of NaNoWriMo 2008 out of a total of 119,301 participants. That's an 18.2% win rate - a new record! Overall, though, all participants this year wrote a collective total of 1,643,343,993 (tha'ts in billions) words this year, and I want to congradulate all my fellow WriMos. Even committing to the attempt is quite a feat indeed.

Anyway, back to being selfish and talking about me.

All NaNoWriMo winners can get a free paperback proof of their manuscript, provided by Amazon.com. Now, how can I turn down an offer like that? I even have the option of working with Amazon to release it to the public, but I have to look into that. The offer is quite tempting though. :D

My NaNo is titled Obsidian Earth and I am very proud of its plot. However, since it is a recent NaNoWriMo winner, it has the quality equivalent to a mouthful of sand. My 52,074 novel should probably have ended 20,000 words earlier. It will be going through an intense editting process before being released. It still has the makings of a great novel, though, and I can't wait until it's ready for public eyes. Who knows? Maybe it'll someday be avaliable on Amazon.com! But I don't want to get ahead of myself, though. Gotta keep my feet on the ground.. sorta.

But speaking of being published.....

Amazon.com also has a competition coming up known as the "Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award." You can check out the details over at http://www.amazon.com/ABNA. But it is basically a competition for an author to get a novel published. It's a free competition and the prizes are quite the incentive. They accept a total 10,000 entries and those who make it into the Quarter-Finals (500 quarter-finalists possible) then you receive a review from Publisher's Weekly as well as many Amazon.com users...a good enough incentive for me. I just want to see how far I can get, and if I get far enough, what the general reception of my work is.

Of course, dreaming big can't hurt, so i'm still keeping my eye on the other prizes. 3 first prize winners get a trip to Seattle to the award ceremony where the Grand Prize winner is announced. The Grand Prize winner gets $25,000 cash prize as well as a full publishing contract with Penguin Publishers and promotion for the winning novel on Amazon.com.

However, even first and second prize winners sometimes get publishing contracts with Penguin or other companies. Who says publicity can't be a good thing?

So.... a basic recap of my ramblings are:

[] I am a winner of NaNoWriMo 2008.
[] I will be obtaining a paperback proof of my NaNo Obsidian Earth sometime in summer 2009.
[] Obsidian Earth may become avaliable to the public via Amazon.com, depending on how things go.
[] I will be completing and submitting the Unspoken Oblivion for the ABNA.

So even though I am still going to be writing my fanfictions and running my site and what not, I just wanted to give you guys an overview of what I'll be doing in the background.

A few other little side notes that sort of relate to this post are that I'm working and hoping to receive my third degree black belt (in Tae Kwon Do, for those who don't know) in September 2009. Also, my martial arts academy is having an end of the year award ceremony this Saturday (December 13). There is a possibility that I will be getting an award for instructing or some dedication because I still manage to surprise them by assisting all the weekend events I can even though I have already left for college. I just thought I'd share since I was already telling you all about what I hoep to be accomplishing in the near future.

Anyway, finals are hitting me decently hard at the moment, so I'll be getting back to all of you later. I guess what I'm really trying to say is this:

I'm dreaming big. What about you?

Have a good one!

It's funny how things work out.

Yeah, I was supposed to post on my blog a while ago, but my personal life exploded once again, except this time for the better. Then again, you guys don't really wanna hear me ramble on about that, right?

Sooooooo, he's the scoop on my hiatus.

Aside from the fact that I felt like I really needed some time to myself to get my life back on the smooth tracks, I just wasn't feeling the creative juices flowing the same way they used to. I think it was because I just just pushing it too hard. It's I was trying to hard to write for the readers than write for myself. Now, I do realize that having a bit of a fanbase helps push me along, but I think I let it push me a bit too hard. I just burnt myself out.

So I'm taking this hiatus to repair myself, in a sense.

Aside from NaNoWriMo, which is actually going rather well, I've been working on a lot of other creative outlets in private, trying to get to where I want to be. As Jack London once said, "You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club."

Now, I think I've gotten it back. Actually, I'm sure that I've gotten it back. But I don't want to chase it away by pushing it too hard. I'm going to write and write and write, but not throw out a timetable for myself. It's like when a strong flowing river gets stopped up. As soon as the dam breaks and the ideas break through, you have to wait for the flow to stabalize before throwing out any restrictions or regulations on it. [Apologies for the bad metaphor]

So even though I'm still writing, I'm going to be taking a break from posting stuff online. I need to just let things flow on their own for a little while.

Your patience will all be rewarded with many goodies when I return, though. Aside from what I'm hoping will be a large amount of new written content, I will have a few videos and images for everyone to enjoy.

But I will keep this blog updated on a regular basis. I'm still working on ways to get the mailing list just the way I want it, so I recommend trying to follow one of my blogs, which will have more detailed upates anyway. =^^=

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving break. Winter break should be just around the corner! Have a good one, everybody!

Let's ignore the fact that I was so tired last night that I just fell asleep before getting the chance to post anything. I'll get to that in between classes later today if I can get internet where I am.

Anyhoo, I'm just going to let you know that the technical difficulties are seemingly endless at this point. I was going along my merry little way onto my site, and *dundundun* ZendFree decides to crash on me. On top of that HelioHost was working just fine. Some time this morning, it switched and HelioHost was down while Zendfree was up.

So my hope is that during the hiatus I've set for myself, HelioHost will be able to straighten out its problems and I can just stick with it. Fingers crossed everyone!

Oh yeah, and then I went on to check the working ZendFree this morning and my Cbox wasn't working... Technology is wonderful, isn't it?

So yeah. I'm curse wtih all of this and we just have to hope that things will be good and dandy when it really really matters. So I'm just letting you all know that both sites may be going crazy, but you can always keep updated on my blogs since there's nothing much on the site right now anyway.

Have a good one, y'alls!

Hey, hey, hey everyone! Welcome to the Livejournal version of my new blog! I don't have too much time at this exact moment, so I'll make it quick and post again some time later tonight.

So HelioHost has been going nuts lately, and I don't know when it will be stable again. Until then, I've switched to ZendFree so my new URL is: http://jadedcatalyst.atzend.com. However, I have much less disc space on this host, so I'll have to work around that. Ideally, though, I'd just like to be able to go back to HelioHost when it's server problems are fixed, but I can't even see my own website right now, so... yeah.

I'm also going to be announcing my official hiatus right now, but I'll get into more details later. Basically, I need to get everything in my life back together and rather than keeping you guys on your toes about updates, I'll be announcing my return date: January 1, 2009. In that time, I will be able to get everything up and working smoothly, as well as give you guys a massive amount of new content to keep everyone happy.

I've also changed my mailing list. Bravenet was a great tool, but it was too restricting for my tastes, so I'll be handilng the mailing list manually from now on. The emails I will be sending out usually won't have too much content, only alerts to blog updates, which will give you more details on what's going on, and alerts on downtime. More details on this later, as well.

As for these blogs, They will be taking the place of those newsletters that I made a sad attempt in doing. So, these blogs will be able to give you details on updates, progress on other projects, and whatever's going through my mind. It basically gets you guys a more in-depth look on things that you wouldn't get otherwise.

And now I have to go eat lunch with some people and get ready for class. I'll be back later tonight with more stuff.

Don't forget that I'm also using other sites for blogging. I'm not against opening up more and I'm open to any suggestions you may have. The ones I currently use all have basically the same content, so just choose whichever you prefer.
